Lisa ( Hungarian Lisza ) is a municipality in the Brașov County , in Transylvania , Romania .

Geographical location

Location of Lisa in Brașov County

The municipality of Lisa is located south of the Transylvanian Basin in the northern foothills of the Făgăraș Mountains . Lisa is located on the creek of the same name and the county road ( drum județean ) DJ 104A, about 27 kilometers southwest of the city of Făgăraş ( Fogarasch ); the district capital Brașov ( Kronstadt ) is located about 94 kilometers to the east.

history

Lisa was mentioned in a document in 1527. According to information from Kurt Horedt and Walter Horwath, archaeological finds on the area of ​​the incorporated village of Breaza ( Frauendorf ) indicate that the region was settled in the 13th century. Until 1918 the place belonged to the Fogaras chair district in Fagaras County , then to the Făgăraş district and from 1950 to the present Braşov district.

In the 1850 census, 2,737 people were counted on the area of ​​today's community of Lisa. In the community, which is predominantly Romanian , the highest number of inhabitants (2985) and also that of the Romanians (2981) were registered in 1910. The Roma (196) were determined in 1992, the Magyars (7) and the Romanian Germans (2) were determined in 1956. In 2011 there were 1744 people in the community of Lisa. 1547 Romanians, 137 were Roma and the rest did not provide any information about their ethnicity.

The main occupation of the population is agriculture and livestock.

Attractions

  • In the incorporated village of Breaza, the ethnographic village museum from the 19th century and about five kilometers south of the village, known by the locals as La Turn , the ruins of an early medieval castle ( Negru Vodă , 842  m ), both of which are listed.
  • The La Vâltori strudel washing facility is located northwest of Lisa ( ) on the stream of the same name.
