Oak Ridge is a census-designated place (CDP) in Orange County in the US state of Florida with 22,685 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Oak Ridge is directly adjacent to Orlando in the northwest . The CDP is affected by Florida's Turnpike and, on a shared route, by US Highways 17 , 92 and 441 ( SR 600 ).

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 22,685 inhabitants were distributed over 8,396 households. The population density was 2,465.8 inh / km². 38.8% of the population identified themselves as whites, 40.0% as African American , 0.6% as Indians and 4.3% as Asian Americans . 11.5% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 4.7% to several ethnic groups. 44.0% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 43.4% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 16.4% of all households. 69.8% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 3.07 people and the average family size was 3.48 people.

30.7% of the population were younger than 20 years, 34.6% were 20 to 39 years old, 24.1% were 40 to 59 years old, and 10.6% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 30 years. 51.0% of the population were male and 49.0% were female.

The median annual income was $ 29,734, with 27.2% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 41.79% of the population, 40.92% spoke Spanish and 17.29% spoke another language.
