Pelewino ( Russian Пелевино , German  Laukanders , 1938 to 1945 Waldeneck , Lithuanian Laukantai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad and belongs to the municipal self-government unit urban district Neman in the Rajon Neman .

Geographical location

Pelewino is eight kilometers southwest of the town of Sovetsk (Tilsit) on the northeastern municipal border, which is also the border with the forest area of ​​the former Schilleningker forest . The village, formerly known as Laukandt , consisted of a few large farms before 1945. Between 1874 and 1945 the place was incorporated into the administrative district Neu Argeningken (the place was called from 1938: Argenbrück, today in Russian: Nowokolchosnoje).
