Puppitsch (in the 19th century also Püppitsch ) is a village in the municipality of Liebenfels in the district of Sankt Veit an der Glan in Carinthia . The village has 11 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). It lies entirely in the area of ​​the Rosenbichl cadastral community .

The village is located about 4 kilometers west-southwest of the district capital Sankt Veit an der Glan , between the places Beißendorf and Rosenbichl .

history

In 979 Pueppitsch (from the Slovenian Podpechach , = under the willows ) is mentioned. A branch church of St. Urban was profaned in 1655.

The village Puppitsch belonged as part of the tax community Rosenbichl in the first half of the 19th century to the tax district Rosenbichl . When the political communities were created in the mid-19th century, the place became part of the Feistritz community , which was renamed the Pulst community in 1875 . Since a municipality merger in 1958, the village has belonged to the Liebenfels municipality.
