Hardegg is a village in the municipality of Liebenfels in the Sankt Veit an der Glan district in Carinthia . The village has 3 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). It lies entirely in the territory of the Hardegg cadastral community .
location
The village is located in the extreme southwest of the Sankt Veit an der Glan district, on a largely wooded hill. Apart from the remains of the Hardegg castle ruins, there are three houses in the village: one is near the Hardegg castle ruins , the other two are about 600 and 900 meters southwest of it on the southern slopes of the hill.
history
The place name is mentioned in 1134 as Hardeche (meaning: Eck am Walt ) in connection with the lords of the Romanesque castle Hardegg. The castle has been falling into disrepair since the 17th century.
In the first half of the 19th century, the place belonged as part of the Hardegg tax community to the Hardegg tax district . When the local congregations were founded in the course of the reforms after the revolution of 1848/49, Hardegg became part of the Hardegg community . In 1958 the place came to the municipality of Liebenfels, which was created by the merger of the municipalities of Liemberg , Hardegg and Pulst .
