Woitsch (sometimes also Weitschach in the 19th century ) is a village in the municipality of Liebenfels in the Sankt Veit an der Glan district in Carinthia . The village has 14 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). It lies entirely in the area of ​​the cadastral community Rottschaft Feistritz .

location

The village is located in the southwest of the Sankt Veit an der Glan district, on a slope that slopes slightly to the southeast, a little over 100 m higher than the Glantalboden . It is only a good kilometer as the crow flies west-northwest from the municipal capital Liebenfels , but there is only a connection to the road network via Glantschach , so that the drive to Liebenfels is over three kilometers.

history

In 1285 Voizach (= son of Voja) is mentioned in a document.

As part of the tax community Rottschaft Feistritz, the place belonged to the tax district Kraig and Nussberg in the first half of the 19th century .

When the local congregations were formed in the course of the reforms after the revolution of 1848/49, Woitsch first came to the community of Glantschach , and in 1875 to the community of Pulst . Since 1958, the place has belonged to the community of Liebenfels, which was created at the time by the merger of the communities Liemberg , Hardegg and Pulst, into which the community of Sörg was also merged in 1973.
