Zmuln is a village in the municipality of Liebenfels in the Sankt Veit an der Glan district in Carinthia . The village has 21 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). It lies on the territory of the Hardegg cadastral community .

location

Zmulner See

The village is located in the extreme southwest of the Sankt Veit an der Glan district, close to the border with the municipalities of Klagenfurt am Wörthersee in the south and Glanegg in the west. It encompasses the area around Hof Zmuln (house no.2 and 3) west of the Zmulner See , as well as the farms Oberer Reidler (house no.4 ), Wasserleiter (house no.5 and 7), Schottstaller (house No. 6) and in the far west house No. 8. The Felfernigg farms (south of No. 6) and Doppelsteiner (west of the Zmulnberg) have gone.

history

The place name Zmuln is derived from the Slovenian smolna , which means pitchy area and probably comes from pine stocks.

In the first half of the 19th century, the place belonged as part of the Hardegg tax community to the Hardegg tax district . When the local congregations were founded in the course of the reforms after the revolution of 1848/49, Zmuln came to the Hardegg community . In 1958 the place came to the municipality of Liebenfels, which was created by the merger of the municipalities of Liemberg , Hardegg and Pulst .
