history

The place name is derived from the village of Pero . In Franziszeischer cadastral five buildings were listed here, two of them made of stone. House no. 2, commonly known as Pichler / Stoffl, was a mill that operated a Venetian saw from 1896 until after the Second World War . From 1940 to 1945 there was a camp for French prisoners of war in Bärndorf.

In the first half of the 19th century, the place belonged as part of the Hardegg tax community to the Hardegg tax district . When the local congregations were founded in the course of the reforms after the revolution of 1848/49, Bärndorf came to the Hardegg community . In 1958 the place came to the municipality of Liebenfels, which was created by the merger of the municipalities of Liemberg, Hardegg and Pulst.
