Weitensfeld is a village in the municipality of Liebenfels in the Sankt Veit an der Glan district in Carinthia . The village has 73 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). It lies entirely in the territory of the Hardegg cadastral community .

location

The village is located in the extreme southwest of the district of Sankt Veit an der Glan, south of the Glan , southwest of the municipal capital Liebenfels . The small town center lies in the middle of the plain of the Glantalboden. About 500 meters south of this is a group of houses - in Franziszeischer register as Zedl referred - to the forest below Hardegg , and about 1 kilometer west are a few houses ( Grundnig , Christian , Kirschner ) scattered directly on the county line, not far from the community Glanegg in District Feldkirchen belonging village Haidach .

history

The place is mentioned in a document in 1570 as Weittensfeld .

In the first half of the 19th century, the place belonged as part of the Hardegg tax community to the Hardegg tax district . When the local congregations were founded as part of the reforms after the revolution of 1848/49, Weitensfeld came to the Hardegg community . In 1958 the place came to the municipality of Liebenfels, which was created by the merger of the municipalities of Liemberg , Hardegg and Pulst .
