Kraindorf (before the middle of the 19th century also Graindorf ) is a place in Carinthia . The border between the cadastral communities Rosenbichl and Grasdorf runs through the village , which is also the border between the political communities Liebenfels and Frauenstein . As a result, the place is divided into two localities : the village of Kraindorf in the municipality of Frauenstein has 14 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020), the village of Kraindorf in the municipality of Liebenfels has 20 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).

location

The place is located southwest outside the district capital Sankt Veit an der Glan , on the northern edge of the Glantalboden , north of the Ossiacher Strasse leading from St. Veit to Feldkirchen . A cadastral municipality boundary runs through the place: the northeastern part of the place lies in the area of the cadastral municipality Grasdorf, the southwestern part of the place in the area of the cadastral municipality Rosenbichl.

history

The place was mentioned in 1280 as a Chreindorf , which is derived from the Slovenian krinja (= notch).

In the first half of the 19th century, the village, which at that time consisted of a single, stately courtyard and was located entirely in the tax community of Grasdorf, belonged to the Kraig and Nussberg tax district . When the local parishes were formed in the course of the reforms after the revolution of 1848/49, the place came to the municipality of Obermühbach .

In the course of the municipal structural reform in 1973 , the cadastral boundaries were changed, so that the southwestern part of the place with the courtyard that originally formed the place was ceded to the cadastral municipality of Rosenbichl and thus to the municipality of Liebenfels, while the north-eastern part of the place remained in the cadastral municipality of Grasdorf and with this came to the new community Frauenstein. Since then, Krainberg has been run in each of the two communities . Several single-family houses were built along Ossiacher Strasse and just north of it.
