location

The cadastral community is located in the Wimitzer Mountains in the south-western part of the Sankt Veit an der Glan district, in the middle of the Liebenfels community. It only includes the immediate vicinity of the village of Gradenegg, and is - starting in the north, clockwise - surrounded by the cadastral communities Pflausach , Glantschach , Liemberg and Freundsam . At the end of the 18th century, the Carinthian tax communities (later: cadastral communities) were formed and assigned to tax districts. The tax municipality of Gradenegg became part of the Gradenegg tax district .

In the course of the reforms after the revolution of 1848/49, the tax districts in Carinthia were dissolved and local communities were formed, each encompassing the area of ​​one or more tax communities. The tax and cadastral municipality of Gradenegg became part of the municipality of Glantschach . In 1875 the cadastral municipality was attached to the municipality of Sörg . Through the merger of the municipalities of Sörg and Liebenfels in 1973, the cadastral municipality of Gradenegg became part of the municipality of Liebenfels.

The size of the cadastral community of Gradenegg was given in 1854 as 187 Austrian yokes and 116 fathoms (approx. 108 hectares, roughly the current area); At that time 198 people lived in the area of ​​the cadastral community.

The cadastral community of Gradenegg belonged from 1850 to the political district of Sankt Veit an der Glan and to the judicial district of Sankt Veit an der Glan . From 1854 to 1868 it belonged to the mixed district of Sankt Veit an der Glan . At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 35 building areas with 14,025 m² and 45 gardens on 61,385 m² in the cadastral community of Gradenegg , in 1989/1990 there were 43 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas increased to 113 and in 2009/2010 there were 55 buildings on 120 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 77 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 19 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000, 71 hectares were used for agriculture and 28 hectares were designated as forest areas. At the end of 2018, 66 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 27 hectares. The average soil climate number of Gradenegg is 32.7 (as of 2010).
