geography
The municipality is part of the Comunità montana Montagna Fiorentina . It is located about 20 km east of the provincial and regional capital Florence on the Sieve .
The districts include Agna, Casi, Casini, Castelnuovo, Cigliano, Contea, Falgano, Masseto, Pomino, Rimaggio, Scopeti, Selvapiana, Stentatoio and Turicchi.
Rufina borders the municipalities of Dicomano , Londa , Montemignaio ( AR ), Pelago , Pontassieve and Pratovecchio Stia (AR).
