Annaberg-Lungötz is a municipality with 2231 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Salzburger Land in the Hallein district in Austria .

geography

The community is located in Tennengau in the Salzburger Land, in the Lammertal at the foot of the Gosaukamm . Originally attributed to the Pongau for centuries , it did not come to the Tennengau until 1896, with the establishment of the Hallein District Commission in 1896. Until the end of 2002 the community belonged to the Abtenau judicial district , since 2003 it has been part of the Hallein judicial district .

Annaberg-Lungötz is located in the middle of a mountain world at the foot of the Gosaukamm and the Tennengebirge . Many alpine pastures are popular destinations for tourists as well as locals. Some alpine pastures: Mahdalm, Gappenalm (not managed), Losegalm, Körnerhütte, Stuhlalm and others.

Community structure

The municipal area comprises the following eight localities (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):

The community consists of the cadastral communities Annaberg , Gappen and Neubach.

The Gappenberg settlement is located at approx. 1000 m and has around 70 inhabitants. Two thirds of the houses are farms (Rathgeb, Weisengut, Kraftenlehen, Hagenhof, Vorderpassruck, Hinterpassruck, Gappenhof, etc.).

The Hagensiedlung settlement is at approx. 750 m and has around 200 inhabitants. The Hagensiedlung is a popular destination for walkers.

history

The Lammertal is mentioned for the first time in a deed of donation from 1124 by Salzburg Archbishop Konrad I to the Archbishopric of St. Peter . In the course of the expulsion of the Salzburg Protestants in 1732, around 250 residents of Annaberg and Lungötz had to leave their homes. "Annaberg im Lammertal" was founded on June 4, 1849 as a political municipality.

With the founding of the Kaindl chipboard factory, the Lungötz district developed into its own locality, and in 1964 its own church was inaugurated in Lungötz.

On December 3, 1991, the municipality name was changed from Annaberg im Lammertal to Annaberg-Lungötz by resolution of the Salzburg state government .

In a red shield, two upward crossed golden keys above a towering silver mountain range (which represents the bishop's cap), which is covered with a gold-framed blue saw below .

economy

  • Tourism: The place is a popular vacation spot in the Dachstein-West ski region in summer and winter .
  • Wood company Kaindl : The company, which is headquartered in Wals-Siezenheim today, and is an important wood-based material manufacturer, was founded here in the Lungötz district in 1897 as a sawmill. The Hüttau dependence was founded in 1954, and in 1959 the company moved to Salzburg.
