The Türkiye 3. Futbol Ligi 1969/70 was the third season of the third highest Turkish division in professional men's football. It was started on August 30, 1969 with the 1st game day and ended on June 28, 1970 with the 40th game day.

As in the previous season, the league was designed as a two-tier league. However, in order to cope with the high demand for teams that wanted to take part in the league, both groups were expanded to 21 teams this time instead of the 14 teams in the previous season. The league was only introduced two years earlier in order to allow the remote provinces of Turkey to participate in professional football. The two groups were referred to as group red and group white . Both first placed went straight to the 2nd league at the end of the season . Since it was decided to change the league again for the coming season, the season should be played without relegation.

Beginning of the season were the remaining from the previous season 24 teams, the six relegated from the 2. Lig Sarıyer GK , Edirnespor , Karagümrük SK , Konyaspor , Beylerbeyi SK , Kastamonuspor , the twelve newcomers Erzincanspor , Erzurumspor , Kirsehirspor , Nevşehirspor , Yenimahalle SK , Konya Ereğlispor , Urfaspor , Mardinspor , Tokatspor , Yedikule SK , Kırklarelispor and Kastamonuspor have been added. The newcomers were either accepted as champions from the then fourth-class regional amateur leagues or had met the requirements of the Turkish Football Association and were allowed to participate in the newly created league.

Hatayspor and Nazillispor achieved the championship of the 3rd Lig and thus direct promotion to the 2nd Lig. Both clubs thus made their first participation in the 2nd Lig.
