Hohholz is a district of the Emskirchen market in the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The Albach rises near the village and is a left tributary of the Middle Aurach . The place is surrounded by forest all around: in the northwest Bertholdswaldung , in the north Ochsengraben , in the northeast Hutschlag , in the southeast Leintännig and in the southwest Glaswald . The Oberalbachteiche are also located in the southeast . The state road 2414 leading to Brunn (2.3 km south) and on Kleehof over after Birnbaum (3.7 km to the north).

history

The place, which dates back to a late clearing settlement (“high in the forest or in the high forest”), was first mentioned in 1361/64 in the castle count's Salbuch as “Ho ^e hu ^e ltz”. At that time the place belonged to the castle counts office Schauerberg . After its dissolution, the place was subject to the newly created Office Emskirchen. Subsequently, the right to tithe was given to the von Seckendorff gentlemen . In 1459 they sold their claim in "Hochholtz" to the Nuremberg citizen Konrad Baumgarten. In 1486 the place was given to Heinrich von Lüchau as a fief. In 1517 the place came into the possession of the Limpurg taverns , but the fraish authorities held the margravial office of Emskirchen. From 1559 to the early 18th century, the place belonged largely to the Lords of Heßberg , and from May 24, 1753 to the Counts of Pückler-Limpurg .

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 13 properties in Hohholz (8 estates, 1 house, 1 brick factory, 1 shepherd's house). The high court , the village and community rule and the lordship over all properties exercised the rule of Brunn .

In 1810 Hohholz came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict , it was assigned to the Brunn tax district formed in 1811 . It also belonged to the rural community of Brunn , which was formed in 1813 . With the second community edict (1818), Hohholz formed its own rural community with Kaltenneuses , Tanzenhaid , Vierzehnmorgen and Ziegelhütte . Until 1833 it was subject to the Patrimonial Court of Brunn directly and only indirectly in administration and jurisdiction to the district court of Markt Erlbach and in the financial administration to the Rentamt Neustadt an der Aisch . The patrimonial court held voluntary jurisdiction and the police until 1833, and the Brunn nursing office from 1833 to 1848. The farm owner Seewald belonged to the parliament in 1848 as a member of the state parliament (which also included the Neustädter dean Bauer ) . From 1862 Hohholz was administered by the Neustadt an der Aisch district office (renamed the Neustadt an der Aisch district in 1938 ) and from 1856 by the Markt Erlbach rent office (1920–1929: Markt Erlbach tax office , from 1929: Neustadt an der Aisch tax office ). The jurisdiction remained until 1879 with the district court of Markt Erlbach, 1880–1959 district court of Markt Erlbach , from 1959 district court of Fürth . The municipality had an area of ​​5.977 km².

On January 1, 1972, Hohholz was incorporated into Emskirchen as part of the regional reform .
