Wavre is a place in the political municipality of La Tène in the Neuchâtel district in the canton of Neuchâtel in Switzerland .

In 1888 the then independent municipality of Wavre merged with the former municipality of Thielle to form the municipality of Thielle-Wavre , which merged with the municipality of Marin-Epagnier to form the municipality of La Tène on January 1, 2009 .

The German name Wabern is no longer used today.
