The 2013/14 Welsh Premier League was the 22nd season of the top Welsh division in men's football . It started on August 23, 2013 and ended with the final of the Europa League playoff on May 17, 2014.
The reigning champions were The New Saints FC .
mode
The twelve teams initially competed against each other twice in a first half of the season, so that each club played 22 games. The league was then split, with the top six teams playing for the championship and international starting places while the rest battled relegation. In these divided rounds, the teams competed against each other twice. All results from the preliminary round were adopted.
The top-ranked team in the championship round became Welsh champions and qualified for the 2013/14 Champions League . The runner-up was eligible to start in the 2013/14 Europa League qualification. The remaining four teams of the championship round, as well as the best team of the relegation round, played in a playoff tournament for last place in the Europa League qualification.
Preliminary round
The six best-placed clubs reached the championship round, the teams in positions seven to twelve played against relegation. It should be noted that the number of points achieved in each of the 22 games in the preliminary round was transferred to the individual groups.

Relegation round
The winner of the relegation round got the chance to qualify for an international starting place via the Europa League playoffs . The two teams in places eleven and twelve were relegated to the second division.

Europa League playoffs
The teams in places three to six of the championship round , as well as the winner of the relegation round , reached the playoffs. In the knockout system , a participant in the 1st qualifying round for the 2014/15 UEFA Europa League was determined. Three rounds were played, with the top three teams receiving a bye for the first round. This year, the winner of the relegation round Aberystwyth Town had reached the cup final, which was won by champions The New Saints FC . Aberystwyth Town had thus qualified as a cup finalist for the Europa League. The first round in the playoff was omitted. Had Aberystwyth Town won the final, then the runner-up in the relegation round Bala Town would have got a place for the playoff round. The semi-finals were played on May 10, the final on May 17, 2014.
