Caieiras is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. The population in 2010 is 86.623, its density is 902.32 inhabitants/km² and the area is 96 square kilometres (37 sq mi). By owning a large reforestation area the city is known as the "city of the Pines".


The suburban city is served by CPTM Line 7 (Ruby).

Economy

The economy of the city is based on paper industry. Most of the territory of the town consists of reforesting areas belonging to Companhia Melhoramentos de São Paulo.
