Controversy over the "new pawn rules"

In February 2017, Hendricks Ministry published "New Farmer Rules" on its homepage and on posters. These were sayings such as "If the pig stands on one leg, the pigsty is too small", or "If poison hits the plants, the birds stay silent too". On the part of the ministry, the campaign was intended to “draw attention to undesirable developments in agriculture and initiate a discussion about them.” This led to protests by the agricultural associations, and the poster campaign was ended by Hendricks. However, the minister also received support. The FAZ wrote, "the outcry knew no measure in style and content". The farmers' associations have no ideas how to deal with industrialization in agriculture : Species shrinkage, farm deaths and a perverse animal breeding industry are a fact. The reaction is comfortable, but irresponsible.

Hendricks and her partner Valérie Vauzanges married on October 30, 2017.
