history

The Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Mosbach was founded in 1980 as a branch of the Mannheim University of Cooperative Education and began operations with 18 industrial students. Since 1984 it has been an independent location of the Baden-Württemberg State University of Cooperative Education . The quality management of the University of Cooperative Education Mosbach was the first state institution in the higher education sector in the Federal Republic of Germany to be certified according to the ISO 9001: 2000 standard. In 2002 a branch was opened in Bad Mergentheim and in 2010 another branch in Heilbronn . Since March 1, 2009, it has been part of the newly founded Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University .

Education

The Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Mosbach offers a dual course of study in the Bachelor area , which consists of an academic course and a practical part that takes place in an external company (dual partner). The theoretical and practical phases change every three months. The applicants conclude a three-year study contract with the dual partner company, where half of the study period takes place. The students are also employees of their company and receive monthly remuneration throughout their studies. More than 1,100 companies are currently involved.

In addition to the bachelor's degree, the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University offers practice-integrated master's programs.

In addition to the main campus in Mosbach, the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Mosbach has another branch in the castle of Bad Mergentheim . The business administration courses International Business and Health Management, as well as the technical course Industrial Engineering are taught there.

Service management and consumer goods trading are taught in the former branch in Heilbronn, which opened in the winter semester 2010; this campus has been an independent study academy since July 2014 as the Baden-Württemberg Heilbronn Cooperative State University .

According to its own information, the university has 3,700 students and more than 220 employees, 70 of whom are professors. In addition, there are around 900 part-time lecturers from business and other universities.

Student representation

The student representatives are elected by the students at departmental assemblies every year. The student council is self-organized and publishes its own app. In addition, the annual proms are organized by the students themselves. The constituted student body (DHBW) represents the students of the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University across all locations.
