Fabien Causeur (born June 16, 1987 in Brest , France ) is a French basketball player who is 1.96 m tall. He is currently under contract with record champions Real Madrid in Spain .
Career
society
Causeur began his professional career with the French club STB Le Havre , and made his debut in the country's first division, the LNB Pro A , in the 2005/06 season.
For the 2009/10 season Causeur moved within the league to Cholet Basket , with whom he was French champion that season . In the following season ( 2010/11 ) he played with Cholet for the first time in the EuroLeague . In the 2011/12 season, Causeur was awarded an average of 16.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game as the best player in the main round of the French LNB Pro A.
For the 2012/13 season Causeur moved to the Spanish league to Laboral Kutxa Vitoria . For Vitoria, Causeur completed a total of 89 games in the EuroLeague. Among his teammates there was among others the German Tibor Pleiß . Mauseur achieved his best points average in Vitoria during the 2014/15 season when he averaged 9.7 points in 34 main round games in the ACB League .
For the 2016/17 season, Causeur moved to the German basketball league at Brose Bamberg , where he received a two-year contract. Andrea Trinchieri says of him that he has great game intelligence. The Frenchman played 35 Bundesliga games for the Franks and posted an average of 11.9 points, and statistically he prepared 2.9 basket hits for his side men per game. In his year in Bamberg, he won the German championship title and the cup competition with the team. The Frenchman was named the best player in the Bundesliga finals.
After just one season, Causeur moves back to the Spanish basketball league for record champions Real Madrid . During the summer break of 2019, his contract in Madrid was extended for another three years.
National team
With the French national junior team, Causeur took part in the U20 European Championship in 2007. There he was able to achieve an average of 6.4 points and 1.1 assists per game in eight games.
Causeur was appointed to the squad of the French men's national team for the first time at the 2010 World Basketball Championship . During the World Cup, Causeur only made three short appearances. With the national team, Causeur took part in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. There he was also only used in three games.
In the following years, Causeur was repeatedly appointed to the provisional squad of the national team, but was not in the final selection for a tournament or had to cancel due to injuries.
