The Sauber C9 , acquired by Cox Kocher in 1989, was driven by Jean-Louis Schlesser , Jean-Pierre Jabouille and Alain Cudini in the 1989 Le Mans 24-hour race

Hans-Rudolf "Cox" Kocher (born May 29, 1942 in Aarau ) is a Swiss entrepreneur and former racing driver .

Racing career

Cox Kocher, who ran a construction company in his hometown Aarau , was active as a sports car driver between 1965 and 1975 . He competed in hillclimb races , was registered in the Interseries and competed twice in the Le Mans 24-hour race : in 1972 , he and Herbert Müller drove a De Tomaso Pantera which failed after a cylinder failure. 1973 were Walter Brun and Jean-Pierre Aeschlimann partner in the BMW 3.0 CSL . This time the race ended prematurely after a valve damage.

Kocher owned valuable racing cars. This included a Ferrari 250 GTO and a Sauber C9 . He acquired the Sauber, chassis number C9-05, from Peter Sauber in 1992 and sold it again in 2006.
