Dilek Kalayci
Dilek Kalayci (formerly: Dilek Kolat , née Demirel , born February 7, 1967 in Kelkit , Turkey ) is a Turkish- German politician ( SPD ). She is a member of the Berlin House of Representatives and since December 2016 Senator for Health, Nursing and Equality .
Life
Kalayci has lived in Berlin since she was three. She studied business mathematics at the Technical University of Berlin and graduated with a degree in business mathematics . She then worked for Deutsche Kreditbank in the areas of controlling, asset management and compliance. Her first marriage was to Kenan Kolat and since May 2019 she has been married to the union secretary Hivzi Kalayci.

From 1995 to 1999 Kalayci was a member of the Schöneberg District Assembly and was deputy chairwoman of the SPD parliamentary group . In the election for the Berlin House of Representatives in 2001 , she was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives with the best first vote result of the SPD (39.6%), where she was chairwoman of the AG Districts of the Main Committee and spokeswoman for the SPD in the Tempodrom investigative committee .
From 2004 to 2018 Kalayci was district chairwoman of the SPD Tempelhof-Schöneberg . She was a member of the Federal Party Council of the SPD and represented the Berlin State Association there .
In the elections for the Berlin House of Representatives in September 2006 , she not only won the direct mandate with 41.2% of the votes in her constituency of Tempelhof-Schöneberg 3 , but again achieved the best first vote result for the SPD.
In the 16th electoral term (2006-2011) Dilek Kalayci was elected deputy parliamentary group leader of the SPD parliamentary group in the House of Representatives. She was back on the main committee . In addition, she was chair of the subcommittee on asset management of the main committee and secretary of the subcommittee on investment management and controlling of the main committee. In 2011 she was also the finance and budget policy spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives.
In the election for the Berlin House of Representatives in 2011 , she again achieved the direct mandate with 33.7 percent in her constituency of Tempelhof-Schöneberg 3.
On November 28, 2011 she was appointed Senator for Labor, Integration and Women of the State of Berlin by the Governing Mayor of Berlin Klaus Wowereit . On November 30, 2011 Kalayci was appointed senator and sworn in on December 1, 2011 ( Senate Wowereit IV ). After Michael Müller was elected Governing Mayor of Berlin on December 11, 2014, Kalayci was appointed Mayor of Berlin and thus Deputy Mayor Michael Müller.
After the 2016 election, Kalayci became Senator for Health, Nursing and Equality on December 8, 2016 . She was no longer appointed mayor because both mayor posts in the new three-party coalition belonged to the other coalition partners. She is a member of the Vivantes supervisory board and chairwoman of the board of trustees of the Kaiserin-Friedrich-Stiftung and a member of the advisory board of the Berliner Sparkasse .
Withdrawal from state politics
Kalayci announced on August 6, 2020 that she did not want to run again in the election for the 19th Berlin House of Representatives and would not seek a senatorial office. She did not give reasons.
