Eatonville is a city in Orange County in the US state of Florida with 2159 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Eatonville borders Maitland to the north and is approximately 10 km north of Orlando .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 2159 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 834 households. The population density was 830.4 inh / km². 12.2% of the population identified themselves as white, 84.5% as African-American and 0.7% as Asian Americans . 1.4% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.1% to several ethnic groups. 9.1% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 39.9% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 34.7% of all households. 73.4% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.92 people and the average family size was 3.34 people.

27.4% of the population were younger than 20 years, 23.6% were 20 to 39 years old, 29.1% were 40 to 59 years old, and 19.8% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 39 years. 47.8% of the population were male and 52.2% were female.

The median annual income was $ 28,333, with 34.4% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 91.63% of the population and 8.37% spoke Spanish .

On February 3, 1998, the Eatonville Historic District was inscribed on the National Register of Historic Places .
