To connect Enfield with Howland, the Enfield – Howland line was opened in 1869 . It was shut down and dismantled in 1963, today it is a hiking trail. Enfield is served by the Bangor – Vanceboro railway line .

The Main State Route 155 performs Howland coming east to Cold Stream Pond and the Village Enfield.
