Culture and sights
Since Etting was spared major destruction in the Second World War , a number of handsome Lorraine farmhouses have been preserved, for example the property built by Nicolas Freyermuth and Anna Müller in 1731 in the center of the village. Numerous Lorraine crosses can be found in the district, a particularly remarkable one from 1817 east of the settlement on the way to Mohrenhof, where the old way from Achen to Rahlinger Altkirchel crosses and the one to Kalhausen branches off. The main figure of this cross is St. Barbara, with St. Francis and St. Anton at her side. The boundary to Rahling corresponds to the course of an old Roman road, of which traces can still be found here and there.
