The season 2018/19 was 19 . The season of the EuroLeague (officially Turkish Airlines Euroleague ), the most important competition in European club basketball .
mode
The 2018/19 EuroLeague season was carried out using the same mode as in the previous season . 16 teams took part in the competition. These competed against each other twice in a group, so that each team played 30 games.
The eight best-placed teams qualified for the knockout round, which was played as a play-off in " best-of-five " mode. The four winning teams qualified for the Final Four tournament.
Participating teams
Nine champions and three runners-up from the most important national and supranational leagues took part.
- EC: Winner of the EuroCup 2017/18
- TV: Defending champion of the EuroLeague from 2017/18
- Clubs with an A license have permanent right to participate in the EuroLeague, regardless of their performance in the national league.
- The other clubs participate through a B license. This is awarded to the champions of the VTB United League , the Basketball Bundesliga , the ABA League , the Türkiye Basketbol Ligi and the winner of the EuroCup last year. If the national champion already has an A license, the next better club moves up.
Main round
The main round was played between October 11, 2018 and April 5, 2019. For teams with the same number of wins, it was not the total point ratio that was decisive for the group placements, but only the added result in a direct comparison of the teams with one another.
