geography

The Altmark village of Eversdorf, a round square village with a church, is located about six kilometers southwest of Salzwedel.

history

The village of Eversdorf was first mentioned in 1420 as dacz dorff czu Euerstorpp . Margrave Friedrich enfeoffed Günzel von Bartensleben with the castle fief of Tangermünde and Salzwedel and numerous villages in the Altmark. Further mentions are 1687 Everstorff and 1804 Eversdorp .

The land reform in 1945 determined: 35 properties under 100 hectares with a total of 376 hectares, the church owned one hectare, the community owned four hectares of land. It was not until 1958 that the first Type III agricultural production cooperative, the LPG "Einheit", came into being.

Other first mentions

Adolph Friedrich Riedel assigned the mention of in uilla, que Luenthorp from 1151 to today's Eversdorf by referring to Euenthorp? added in brackets. Otto von Heinemann suggested here rather Ebendorf north-northwest of Magdeburg . Hermann Krabbo thinks that the entry could perhaps be read as Bienthorp, this same Sandbeiendorf near Wolmirstedt . The historian Peter P. Rohrlach writes: Despite all the uncertainty of the interpretation, the above Eversdorf should be eliminated at all.

Incorporations

On August 1, 1972, the communities Eversdorf and Wieblitz (with their districts Groß Wieblitz and Klein Wieblitz) merged to form Wieblitz-Eversdorf, both in the Salzwedel district. On January 1, 2011, the municipality of Wieblitz-Eversdorf was dissolved by law and incorporated into Salzwedel.

So Eversdorf came to Salzwedel as a district.
