Chüttlitz belongs to the village of Brietz and is a district of the Hanseatic city of Salzwedel in the Altmark district of Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
The Altmark Roundabout village Chüttlitz located three kilometers northwest of Salzwedel. The Katerhorster Graben flows in the northeast.
The neighboring towns are Blütlingen in the north, Teplingen , Lübbow and Hoyersburg in the northeast, Salzwedel and Böddenstedter Mühle in the southeast, Böddenstedt in the south, Groß Gerstedt in the southwest and Brietz and Brietzer Mühle in the northwest.
history
In 1340 the village of Chüttlitz is called ville gutlitz when Henning von Gartow sold a hoof of land from the village to Dietrich Brewitz. 1365 it says in a document In villa Chulitze . In the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375 the place is listed as Gudelitze . It belonged to von Bartensleben's . Further mentions are: 1393 dat dorp tho Chuttlisse , 1420 dacz dorff gütlitz [...] dacz is wuste (ie uninhabited), 1435 Ghutlitze , 1503 Chuttelitze , 1687 Chützlitz and 1804 Chütlitz .
The large stone grave in Chüttlitz was destroyed in the 19th century.
To the south of the village there is an uncovered old landfill, in the northwest of which there is an archaeological monument.
Incorporations
On March 1, 1973, the formerly independent municipality of Chüttlitz from the Salzwedel district was incorporated into the municipality of Brietz. With the incorporation of Brietz into Salzwedel on January 1, 2003, the district of Chüttlitz became part of the city of Salzwedel. At the same time, the village of Brietz was created, to which the district was assigned.

The Protestant Chüttlitzer today belong to the parish of Salzwedel-St. Marien in the parish of Salzwedel in the provost district of Stendal-Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
