Klein Wieblitz is a district of the Hanseatic city of Salzwedel in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Altmark village of Klein Wieblitz is located about six kilometers west-southwest of Salzwedel. The Salzwedeler Dumme flows north of the village .

history

The former round square village was rebuilt after the fire of 1837 and later expanded to the north and south-east.

The first mention of it comes from the year 1349. A farm in the village of Wieblitz was mentioned as in parua villa wybelysse when Henning and Busso Crucemann sold it to the Heiliggeist monastery in Salzwedel. 1350 it says in parua wibelisse . In the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375 the village is listed as Luͤtken Wibelitze with 11 hooves . Further mentions are 1600 Lütke Wiebelitz , 1687 Lütken Wiebelitz and 1802 Klein Wiebelitz .

Wieblitzer mill

In 1322 the mill in Wieblitz is mentioned as being in Molendino wybelitz . Hempo von dem Knesebeck pledged a bushel of grain interest from the mill to the Diesdorf monastery . The historian Peter P. Rohrlach writes: probably concerns Klein Wieblitz, since the mill was mentioned there as early as 1587 .

The Wieblitzer mill was a watermill on the stupid. The mill was not shown as a place to live in local directories. Peter P. Rohrlach thinks that the mill used to belong to the Bombeck community. Due to various exchanges of land between Bombeck and Klein Wieblitz in 1939, the assumption cannot be completely ruled out. From the borderline of the maps from 1932 and 2003, the residential area belonged to Klein Wieblitz.

Incorporations

On July 1, 1950, the communities of Klein Wieblitz and Groß Wieblitz in the Salzwedel district were merged to form the community of Wieblitz . On August 1, 1972, the communities of Wieblitz and Eversdorf were merged to form the community of Wieblitz-Eversdorf . Wieblitz was thus dissolved. Groß Wieblitz and Kleinwieblitz became districts of Wieblitz-Eversdorf. Wieblitz-Eversdorf was dissolved by law on January 1, 2011. Klein Wieblitz was incorporated into Salzwedel as a district. The district does not belong to any locality.
