Trub is a municipality in the Emmental administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland .

geography

Trub is located in the upper Emmental on the Trueb , in the Napfbergland , is agricultural and has a very large scattered settlement area. In terms of area, with 6201 hectares, it is one of the largest municipalities in the canton of Bern. Around 50% of the community area is forested. The highest point is on the Napf at 1408  m . The hamlets of Fankhaus (zip code: 3557) and Kröschenbrunnen also belong to the municipality of Trub .

population

The population was 2606 in 1900. Since then it has been falling continuously. Trub is a classic emigration valley. This shows the number of about 50,000 people that their lees in Citizenship have. After Langnau, Trub is the second largest community in the canton of Bern.

history

Trub is historically significant as the location of the Trub Monastery , a former Benedictine monastery that was dissolved in the Reformation year 1528.

Since 1994 there has been a community partnership with Novosedly nad Nežárkou in the Czech Republic.

The voting shares of the parties in the 2019 National Council election were: SVP 61.0%, BDP 11.6%, GPS 9.2%, SP 4.8%, EDU 1.2%, glp 3.9%, FDP 1.5 %, EVP 2.1%, CVP 0.9%, DM 1.0%.
