Galina Olegowna Voskoboeva ( Russian Галина Олеговна Воскобоева , English transcription Galina Voskoboeva ; born December 18, 1984 in Moscow , USSR ) is a tennis player who first played for Russia and has competed for Kazakhstan since 2008 .
Career
Voskoboyeva, who prefers to play on hard courts, began playing tennis at the age of six. So far she has won three double titles on the WTA Tour as well as three singles and 13 double titles in ITF tournaments.
On March 6, 2011 Voskoboyeva won her first double title on the WTA Tour. Together with Dinara Safina , she defeated the pairing Noppawan Lertcheewakarn / Jessica Moore in three sets . In the same year she also won the two WTA clay court tournaments in Oeiras and Brussels on the side of Alissa Kleibanowa and Andrea Hlaváčková .
On February 23, 2013, she had another success at the WTA tournament in Memphis , this time together with Kristina Mladenovic . At the Grand Slam tournament in Roland Garros in 2013, she made it to the quarter-finals for the second time since 2008, again alongside Mladenovic.
In spring 2014 she won her fifth double title on the tour with Mladenovic at the WTA tournament in Acapulco . From March 2014 she has to sit out due to an injury; in March 2015 she was no longer listed in the world rankings. In February 2016 she finally returned to the ITF Women's Circuit .
