Guspini is a town in the province of Sud Sardegna in Sardinia with 11,499 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). Guspini is 126 m above  sea ​​level and is 30 km from Sanluri and 14.6 km from the train station in San Gavino Monreale .

history

Guspini was already settled in pre- Uraghic times . Today's place was built in the High Middle Ages. In the 19th century in the mines of near Guspini, Montevecchio and Gennamari, galena and sphalerite reduced. Today, however, Guspini lives from agriculture, tourism and small to medium-sized businesses. In the vicinity of Guspini there are some very well-preserved nuraghi and menhirs (Genna Prunas, Perdas Longas). The fountain sanctuary of Sa Mitza de Su Nieddinu is on the road to San Nicolo . The giant tomb of San Cosimo is located south of the city .

In the Second World War there was a military airfield near Guspini (Sa Zeppara) ( ). A few remains of the complex are still there.
