Ballao is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 743 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Sud Sardegna in Sardinia . The municipality is located about 43.5 kilometers north-northeast of Cagliari at the Parco Geominerario Storico ed Ambientale della Sardegna and the Flumendosa .
