House of Assembly (St. Vincent and the Grenadines)

The House of Assembly is the parliament in the unicameral system of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines .

The House of Assembly consists of 23 MPs, of which 15 MPs are elected every five years and six Senators are appointed. In addition, there are ex officio the Attorney General, who is a civil servant and is appointed, and the Speaker of the House, who is elected by the members of the government in consultation with the opposition. All persons over the age of 18 are entitled to vote.

In the elections on December 7, 2005, the United Labor Party (ULP) won 12 seats and the New Democratic Party (NDP) 3 seats. In the elections on December 9, 2015, the ULP only won 8 seats, while the NDP won 7 seats.
