    The National Assembly of Nicaragua ( Spanish : Asamblea Nacional ) is the parliament in Nicaragua .

    Nicaragua has had a unicameral system since the constitution of 1987 came into force . 92 members of parliament are elected for five years through party lists in accordance with proportional representation. Before 1987 it had a two-chamber system.
