House of Representatives (Grenada)

The House of Representatives of Grenada ( House of Representatives ) is the lower house in the bicameral system of Grenada .

The parliament consists of a Senate (thirteen members) and a House of Representatives (fifteen members). While the senators are appointed by the government and the opposition, the 15 members of the House of Representatives are directly elected by the population for five-year terms in 15 single-electoral districts. Citizens of the Commonwealth of Nations residing in Grenada aged 18 and over are eligible to vote and vote .

The elections on February 19, 2013 were won by the New National Party , which had been opposition and conservative, and received all 15 seats. The previously ruling National Democratic Congress thus came away empty-handed. The NNP also won all seats in the 2018 parliamentary election.
