    The Senate of Colombia ( Spanish Senado de la República de Colombia ) is the upper house of the Congress of the Republic of Colombia , the country's parliament .

    The Senate consists of 108 elected senators whose term of office is four years. To become a Senator, the elected person must be a native Colombian and have reached the age of 30 at the time of the election. 100 senatorial seats are elected via a national list of individual candidates. The remaining two senatorial seats are divided among people who come from the indigenous and Afro-American minorities.

    In addition to the Senate, the House of Representatives of Colombia is the lower house . The Senate is located in the National Capitol of Colombia in Bogotá .

    Senate President has been Ernesto Macías Tovar from the Centro Democrático since July 20, 2018 .
