The Parliament of Jamaica ( English Parliament of Jamaica ) has its seat in the capital Kingston in the George William Gordon House on Duke Street . Parliament is a bicameral system consisting of a Senate and a House of Representatives.

The Senate

The Senate is the upper house in the bicameral system and consists of 21 senators.

The House of Representatives

The House of Representatives is the lower house in the bicameral system and is elected by the people through simple majority voting. It consists of 63 members who are elected for five years each. The last election was in February 2016 .
