Japan Open
In addition to the All Japan Open , there was another tournament called the Japan Open . It was held at the New Pia Hall in Tokyo in 2009 and 2010 .
The winners of this tournament were the Filipinos Francisco Bustamante and Ramil Gallego in the men and the Taiwanese Tan Hsiang-ling and Chou Chieh-yu in the women. Chou Chieh-yu is the only player who could win both the Japan Open and the All Japan Open .
The prize money of the Japan Open was significantly lower than that of the All Japan Open. While the 2010 men's All Japan Open paid out over US $ 82,000 , of which the winner received around US $ 24,000, the winner of the 2010 Japan Open only received around US $ 17,000, with a total prize money of almost US $ 42,000. The women at the Japan Open 2010 distributed around 11,000 US dollars, of which the winner received around 4,400 dollars, while the 2010 All Japan Open women distributed over 21,000 US dollars, of which the winner received around 7,000 dollars.
