The KamAZ-43502 ( Russian КамАЗ-43502 ) is a four-wheel drive truck from the production of the KAMAZ plant in Naberezhnye Chelny . The flatbed truck, which has been built since 2008, is the successor to the slightly lighter KamAZ-4350 and the KamAZ-43501 .

vehicle description

Rear view of the same vehicle (2013)

Serial production of the KamAZ-43502 began in 2008. In addition to the version with a flatbed, aerial work platforms and fire engines have also been installed on the truck chassis since 2013 . Since 2015 there has also been a variant of the NefAZ -4211 off-road bus that uses the chassis of the KamAZ-43502.

The truck comes from the manufacturer in two versions, which differ mainly in the engine. While the KamAZ-43502-45 uses a large-volume V8 diesel engine with a displacement of almost twelve liters from its own production, the KamAZ-43502-14 (S4) uses an imported engine from Cummins Engine . With a displacement of just 6.7 liters, the imported engine develops an output of 275 hp (204 kw), which is 15 hp more than engines from KAMAZ. A nine- speed gearbox from ZF Friedrichshafen is used in both types . Due to the larger number of gears (five-speed manual gearboxes were installed in the previous models), an off-road reduction was not required.

All other technical data differ only insignificantly. Since the Cummins engine is lighter, but both trucks have the same gross vehicle weight rating, the KamAZ-43502-15 (S4) can carry around 300 kilograms more. The external dimensions of both trucks are the same, as are the other built-in technology. Both versions have a sleeping place in the cabin and are therefore theoretically also suitable for use in long-distance transport.
