KamAZ-53215 in Warsaw (2006)

The KamAZ-53215 was introduced in 1995 as the successor to the KamAZ-53212 and has been mass-produced since then. The production of the predecessor was not stopped until seven years later, in 2002. The KamAZ-53125 differs from it in that the payload has been increased to eleven tons, with an only slightly higher curb weight of 8.36 tons. The engine experienced an increase in performance. The unit manufactured by KAMAZ now has an output of 240 hp (176 kW).

The vehicles look almost completely the same. With the newer KamAZ-53215, only the round lamps in the radiator plate were omitted, only the headlights integrated in the bumper remained.

As of mid-2016, KAMAZ is no longer officially offering the vehicle for sale. However, it is possible to have older vehicles of the types KamAZ-5320 or KamAZ-53212 retrofitted to the technical standard of a KamAZ-53215 by the manufacturer as part of a general overhaul.

The fire engine AP-5000 (53215) was also produced on the basis of the KamAZ-53215. In parallel to the KamAZ-53215, the heavier KamAZ-53229 was built around the same time, which can carry around 16 tons of load.
