The KamAZ-44108 ( Russian КамАЗ-44108 ) is an all-wheel drive tractor unit from the production of the KAMAZ plant in Naberezhnye Chelny . The vehicle is based on the KamAZ-43118 and is no longer offered by the manufacturer.

vehicle description

KamAZ-44108 in Khanti-Mansiysk (2015)
Rather unusual combination of tractor unit (type KamAZ-44108) with loading crane and conventional trailer in Khanti-Mansiysk (2015)
Long timber transport in Siberia with KamAZ-44108 (2010)

Based on the KamAZ-43118, in addition to the KamAZ-45141 tipper, the manufacturer offered an all-terrain tractor, the KamAZ-44108. It is not known exactly when the vehicle started series production. The KamAZ-43118 has been built since 1995. The version as a tractor unit has also been offered at least since 2001.

Earlier vehicles had an in-house made diesel engine. Up until 2003, engines were installed that only met the EURO 1 emissions standard. From 2004 the engine type KamAZ-740.30.260 was installed, which not only fulfilled the EURO-2 standard, but also had an increased torque from 932 to 1059 Nm. Some versions of the vehicle received a nine-liter diesel engine from Cummins that developed 325 hp (239 kW). With an average fuel consumption of 43.5 liters per 100 kilometers for Russian engines, the vehicle is very fuel-intensive for the total weight of the train of 32 tons.

In 2003 there was an armored version of the tractor for use by armies. Nothing is known about series production.

There was no official announcement about the discontinuation of the model. However, KAMAZ has not offered the vehicle since at least 2015. Since then, the manufacturer has been producing other all-terrain tractor units, for example the KamAZ-65225 , which, however, is designed for larger payloads.
