The KamAZ-63501 ( Russian КамАЗ-63501 ), also known as a "Mustang" (Russian Мустанг), is a heavy all-wheel drive truck produced by the KAMAZ plant in Naberezhnye Chelny . The vehicle has been built since 2004 and is also designed for military use. The truck is a version of the KamAZ-6350 with an increased payload.

In 2004, KAMAZ increased the payload of the KamAZ-6350. The resulting KamAZ-63501 is able to transport loads of up to 14 tons even in difficult terrain. Like its predecessor, the vehicle was developed especially for the Russian armed forces . As of 2011, they had over 200 KamAZ-63501 trucks in their inventory.

In 2005, KAMAZ brought an even heavier vehicle of the same type onto the market with the KamAZ-6560 . In 2006, an artillery tractor based on the KamAZ-63501 was launched under the name "Medwed" (Russian "Медведь", German Bär). The vehicle has only a short loading area, between this and the driver's cab there is a cabin for passenger transport. Howitzers are also mounted on the chassis. A large-volume V8 diesel engine from the KAMAZ factory's own production is installed in the KamAZ-63501. The engine with a displacement of almost twelve liters develops 360 hp (265 kW). In contrast, the transmission is supplied by the German company ZF Friedrichshafen .
