Rohrbach an der Lafnitz with 2639 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) is a municipality in the judicial district of Fürstenfeld and in the political district of Hartberg-Fürstenfeld in Styria in Austria . As part of the Styrian municipal structural reform , it was merged with the Eichberg municipality on January 1, 2015 , the new municipality continues to bear the name Rohrbach an der Lafnitz. The basis for this is the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act - StGsrG. Furthermore, Rohrbach an der Lafnitz was expanded on the same date to include part of the neighboring municipality of Schlag near Thalberg (former cadastral municipality of Schlag and a new cadastral municipality in Rohrbach).

Rohrbach an der Lafnitz is located in the eastern Joglland about 13 km north of the district capital Hartberg . The community lies at the confluence of the Limbach in the Lafnitz .

Rohrbach an der Lafnitz is conveniently located. The municipal area is affected by the well-developed Wechsel Straße B 54 from Wiener Neustadt to Hartberg. The south autobahn A2 from Vienna to Graz is about ten kilometers away and can be reached via the Friedberg / Pinggau junction (exit 95).

Rohrbach is connected to the railway network through the “Rohrbach-Vorau” stop. There is access to the Thermenbahn with two-hour regional train connections to Vienna and Hartberg.

The Graz Airport and the airport Wien-Schwechat are each about 100 km away.

At the constituent meeting of the municipal council in April 2015, the municipal secretary and registrar Günter Putz (SPÖ), who had been the mayor of the Rohrbach an der Lafnitz municipality until December 31, 2014, was re-elected mayor .

Günther Simon (SPÖ), who has been the government commissioner since January 1st , has been elected vice mayor.

Both previous municipalities had a municipality coat of arms. Due to the amalgamation of municipalities, these lost their official validity on January 1st, 2015. The new awarding of the municipal coat of arms for the merged community took place with effect from April 20, 2017. Blazon (coat of arms description):
