The Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok (German rarely County Jass Nagykunság-Szolnok , Hungarian Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok vármegye , Latin comitatus Jazyga et Cumania Maior et Szolnokiensis ) was an administrative unit ( County / County ) in the Kingdom of Hungary .

The area is located in today's central Hungary on the area of ​​today's Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county , but was somewhat smaller than this.

The county bordered the Pest-Pilis-Solt-Kiskun , Heves , Hajdú , Békés and Csongrád counties and was traversed by the rivers Tisza and Körös .

history

The county was created in 1876 through the merger of the counties Szolnok , Jászság ( Jazygia ) and Nagykunság (Greater Cumania) and existed in this form until the great county reform in 1950. In the same year, as part of the great county reform, the area around Dévaványa was assigned to the Békés county , in return, the left bank of the Tisza (around Tiszafüred ) from Heves county was added.
