The men's 400-meter run at the 1962 European Athletics Championships was held from September 12 to 14, 1962 in Belgrade's Partizan Stadium .

With silver and bronze, there were two medals for German runners in this competition. The British Robbie Brightwell became European Champion . He won children over Manfred . Bronze went to Hans-Joachim Reske .
