The women's 800-meter run at the 1982 European Athletics Championships was held from September 6 to 8, 1982 in the Olympic Stadium in Athens .

The Soviet runners achieved a double victory in this competition. The European champion was the Olympic runner-up in 1980 Olga Minejewa . She won ahead of Lyudmila Vesselkowa . The German athlete Margrit Klinger won the bronze medal.
