The men's high jump at the 1990 European Athletics Championships was held on August 29 and 31, 1990 in the Poljud Stadium in Split .

The European champion was the Yugoslav Dragutin Topić . He won ahead of Alexei Jemelin from the USSR. Bronze went to the Bulgarian Georgi Dakow .

qualification

August 29, 1990

24 participants competed in two groups for the qualification round. The qualification height for the direct entry into the final was 2.28 m. Ten athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled with the two next-placed athletes to twelve jumpers (highlighted in light green). In the end, 2.24 m had to be raised to take part in the finals.
