The 800-meter run for women at the European Athletics Championships 2002 was held from August 6th to 8th, 2002 in Munich's Olympic Stadium.

European champion was Jolanda Čeplak from Slovenia . She won ahead of the Spanish Mayte Martínez . The British Olympic third in 2000 Kelly Holmes won the bronze medal.
